We took our visiting friends to Kobu – a nice asian fusion restaurant on the lake in Mahopac, NY. They’ve recently added a pleasant covered patio area right next to the lake. After we’d finished eating we noticed a flurry of activity down by the lake so we went over to “check it out”. A number of the serving staff (this is one) were down by the lake with fishing nets trying to catch something – it turns out that it was a turtle. They were unsuccessful, but I shudder to think what they would have done with it had they caught it: anyone for turtle chow mein?
