The rather strange title is supposed to be the sound that a chicken makes. I had no idea how to write that sound so I looked it up on the internet. I found a number of possibilities – none of which seemed to be particularly compelling. This one seemed to be the best of a bad lot, and I couldn’t come up with anything better myself.

I came across these two ornamental chickens on the front porch of our friend’s house when she invited us for lunch. She’s French so I’m sure they have some kind of Gallic connotation.
