For a while now I’ve been using my Sony Nex 5N almost exclusively with adapted legacy lenses. However, I do have Sony E-mount lenses so I thought I’d give them a try again – specifically the 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens (the first one that came to hand).

Above a Day Lily. At the time I took this picture (end June) masses of day lilies were growing around our lake (see last picture – not taken with a Sony E-Mount lens.

Mass of day lilies. Taken with a Canon EOS 5D and EF 28-80mm f3.5-5.6.

How did I like the experience? I quite like the picture of the day lily. The picture of the roses on the fence is OK and I don’t care for the picture taken at moon beach. The background is “mushy”, but that may well have been my fault. I’ve had good results with this lens in the past. Maybe I’ve just forgotten how to use it well.

All pictures (except for the last) taken with a Sony Nex 5N and 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 lens
