Lyndhurst is a 15 minute drive from our house in Briarcliff Manor. Overlooking the Hudson River it’s one of America’s finest Gothic Revival mansions. Designed in 1838 by Alexander Jackson Davis it was owned by New York City mayor William Paulding, merchant George Merritt, and railroad tycoon Jay Gould and his family.

The movie “House of Dark Shadows” and its sequel “Night of Dark Shadows” were both primarily shot at Lyndhurst.

Taken with a Sony RX-100 M3.
