In a thai restaurant

We recently went to one of our favorite nearby restaurants: Bangkok Spice in Shrub Oak. While we were there a took a few pictures.

The picture of the teapot above I think exemplifies some of the strong points of the 50mm f2.9 Peronar: It’s muted colors, low contrast and soft, rather “dreamy” look. I really like this picture.

“Minimalist” composition of a hanging lamp. Again shows off the lens’s color rendition, softness and lack of contrast.

I just liked the roots in this vase sitting in the window.

The color purple

Taken in Law Park, Briarcliff Manor, NY. It’s actually the underside of a slide in a children’s playground (see below). I didn’t see it as such, however. To me it was a pleasing color (I always find purple to be rather calming), with a series of interesting lines (both straight and curved) weaving through it. I think the softly curving lines work well with the color to emphasize the feeling of tranquility. If they had been jagged the overall effect would have been somewhat jarring.

Rushes

Taken in Law Park, Briarcliff Manor, NY while walking the dog. I liked the layers: the snow in the foreground, the first group of rushes (sharp), the icy snow covered pond, and then the second layer of rushes (blurred). Also the sets of diagonal lines that lead the eye through the picture.
