The wedding was taking place at the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa so that that was where we stayed.
Expedia describes it as follows:
Secluded lakefront retreat with tranquil spa. Popular property highlights: Free self parking; Free WiFi; Pets allowed (note: essential for us as we wanted to bring our dog with us); On private beach; 24-hour business center; Boutiques & vines; Italian gardens, ornate bridges, vine-covered balconies, and romantic trellises distinguish this Mediterranean-inspired resort, on the shores of Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, 17 miles from the Strip. MonteLago Village boutiques and shops are just steps away. Golf, sail, spa. Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa provides exclusive access to South Shore Golf Course. Guests can canoe, kayak, and sail on the lake, or unwind in the hotel’s lap pool and award-winning spa. Lake or mountain views. Spacious guestrooms and suites at Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa offer lake, mountain, or resort views. Down duvet and pillows and Hilton linen. Marble baths have separate showers and tubs.
The resort has a fake Tuscan theme. It’s a little tacky, but on the other hand I think I prefer this to many of the ‘cookie-cutter’ hotels I’ve stayed in. The views are impressive and the grounds extensive – lots of space to take the dog for his walks and the close proximity to the Montelago Village and it’s numerous restaurants and shops to some extent offsets the fact that the resort is some distance (about a 30 minute drive) from the Las Vegas ‘strip’.
