I was standing around in our house in Briarcliff Manor when I noticed some really nice light coming in through the kitchen window. The only camera I had was in my iphone so that’s what I used to take these pictures.
After I’d taken it it occurred to me that there might be some other opportunities around the house so I went looking and found this small swan soap dish in a downstairs bathroom.

We went to Four Brothers Restaurant in Mahopac yesterday. It was a lovely day and the restaurant has a great location – right on the lake. The menu is extensive and the portions are huge. I ordered a ‘small’ salad and could only eat half of it.
After the meal we went outside to take a look at the lake. As we were leaving I noticed the group right by the exit.

The above picture combines two of my wife’s hobbies: roses and blue and white china. Even when a rose has broken off she finds a use for, as in this case where she’s placed it in a bowl of water. As of now – twelve days later – it’s still there and not looking too much the worse for wear.

My wife runs a Facebook group devoted to blue and white pottery. She also loves to grow roses and is an active participant in a number of groups related to them. From time to time she combines the two and then asks me to take pictures of the result.
