The McAndrews Estate – The Cow Barn

This two story building is probably the most impressive structure I came across. I’ve read that the upper floor of the building was used for cows, while the lower floor may have been used to house sheep. The circular structure in the second picture is all that remains of a silo. Scenes from the Trail has a great picture of how the cow barn used to look with the intact silo next to it.

The first three images were taken with an iPhone SE and the last one with a Sony A6000. Again I’m not sure which lens was used.

The McAndrews Estate – The Racetrack

The is the former Race Track, once used give the prize estate’s horses a good workout. The track borders were defined by these iron railings. The owners seem to have been fond of such railings as you find them all over the property.

Scenes from the Trail has some wonderful pictures of how the Race Track used to look. I was struck by the almost complete absence of trees in the old photographs. I guess they must have all grown since then.
