This is all that remains of 178 Holbrook Road. It was still standing when we moved to this area in 1998, but when I walked by the other day it had gone. I didn’t notice when it was demolished.

I remember it as being an old house that was in some way connected to the old Speyer Property, Waldheim. Now all that remains is a grassy plot, a concrete slab, the remains of a brick wall, two pillars by the entrance (one of which has this urn on top) and an old wooden gate with rusty hinges.

It makes me feel sad, particularly because I didn’t notice its passing.

Taken with a Sony RX-100 M3.
