Taken while walking the dog along the North County Trailway. I liked the rougher textures of the gnarled roots, and the rocks and the contrast with the more subtle white flowers.

A rose in a bowl
The above picture combines two of my wife’s hobbies: roses and blue and white china. Even when a rose has broken off she finds a use for, as in this case where she’s placed it in a bowl of water. As of now – twelve days later – it’s still there and not looking too much the worse for wear.

North Beach
Some views from one of the five beaches around our lake. This one is called North Beach and the view is more or less towards the south. Our house is to the left of the small island you see to the right in the third picture (although I’m not sure that you can see it in the picture).

This dock is at the end of Roaring Brook Lane, which follows Roaring Brook from Lakeshore Road to where it enters the lake. Autumn colors just starting to appear.
