Rockefeller State Park Preserve – Stone Bridges

One of the things that I love about the Rockefeller State Park Preserve is the lovely old stone bridges. There are three of them all.

Above the first bridge you come across as you walk along the Pocantico River Trail.

The second bridge.

The third bridge. This is a lovely three arch bridge. Unfortunately it’s impossible to get a good angle on it i.e. so that you can see all three arches

Carouge – Around the Place du Marché – Cinema Bio

“Located in the Carouge district of Geneva. The Cinema Ideal was opened in 1912. In 1913 it was re-named Cinema Chanteclair and was closed in 1915. In 1920 it re-opened as the Cinema Carouge, and in 1928 it became the Carouge Cinema which operated until 1951. In 1952 it was re-named Cinema Vox which operated until 1971.

In 1972 it became the Cinema Bio and had 194 seats. It operated until the mid-2000’s. In 2004 the building was saved from demolition by the support of the local population, who voted in favour of saving the cinema.

After restoration it has re-opened and now also contains a small 20-seat video screen. The Cinema Bio is a member of the Europa Cinemas group of art house cinemas.” (Cinema Treasures).

Outside the cinema is a interesting display of old photographs and film of the building.
