I’ve posted before about these strange stone chambers in Putnam County. Here’s another one.
I really don’t know how I missed this one. It’s on the left side of Route 301 (coming from Cold Spring) about half a mile from the other one on route 301 mentioned in the earlier post. I must have driven by it tens if not hundreds of time and never noticed it. It just goes to show that unless you’re really looking, you tend not to see them. Many locals don’t even know that they even exist.
I was really impressed by the late afternoon light on this old equipment (I have no idea what purpose it once served) in Pelton Pond. Interesting how the water poured into the hole that you see in the picture.
We have an old metal shed in our garden. Near to it are some old clothes lines left by the previous owner and which we don’t use. One day I noticed the shadows being left on shed and liked the contrasts of the black shadows and the white(ish) clothespins on the red shed.
I’ve posted about this ruined building before, but at that time there was lots of snow on the ground and I wasn’t able to get close to it. So here it is again – this time in color.
Came across these guys on a beach near the Hudson. Clearly they were taking advantage of the last of the nice weather before Winter closes in on us. They seem to be regulars, because on a subsequent visit I came across two of them heading towards the beach with their collapsible chairs.
