A new cat

On March 18 I posted that I had lost my 17+ years old cat, Gypsy. I’m such a cat person that I couldn’t go long without having one in the house. So I’m introducing Sophie (at least that’s what the previous owner called her). My family (myself included) is pretty much unanimous that she doesn’t look like a Sophie so we’ll probably call her something else. Any ideas?

She’s a Maine Coon, a cat that I’ve always loved and always wanted to have.

She’s been here for less than a day and she’s already taken over one of my dog, Harley’s dog beds.

RIP Gypsy

It was a sad day today. I lost my cat, Gypsy. Her health declined rapidly over the past two or three weeks. She was well over 17 years old and had no health problems at all until now. I guess she just got old. Still she had a long and, I think, happy life. She was a great cat, quite affectionate as cats go and I’ll miss her.

Harley after grooming

My dog, Harley was groomed yesterday so I thought I’d take a few pictures to commemorate the occasion. Doesn’t he look nice? Above: He likes to lie at the very edge of the balcony, contemplating what’s going on in the meadow. He loves to bark at the deer, but the deer strategy works very well. If they don’t move he doesn’t seem to see them.

We’d just come back from a walk so I guess he was a bit sleepy

Nap Time.

On waking his usual routine is to shake and/or stretch. This is a shake in progress
