Around the Neighborhood – Another ‘Deer in the Meadow’ picture.

I was sitting on the balcony fiddling with a new (to me) lens (a Tamron 200-500mm f/5-6.3 SP AF Di LD (IF)) when I noticed that my frequent visitors, the deer had returned. Since I was already holding the camera/lens I couldn’t resist giving it a try.

They were quite far away and it was already getting dark so I had to up the ISO with a resultant increase in notice. But all in all I was satisfied.

More on the lens when I’ve used it more and know it better.

On the Balcony – Gypsy

My cat, Gypsy is a real house cat. Generally she hates going outside and if you take her out will run right back into the house. However, like my dog Harley and myself she seems to enjoy the balcony. She comes out frequently and sometimes stays for quite some time. I don’t take all that many pictures of Gypsy (don’t know why) so it’s quite rare. And it’s even more rare because she’s outside.

Taken with an iphone SE (Second Generation).

On the Balcony – A Bee Encounter

I was sitting on the balcony outside the bedroom when this bee flew up. It was quite persistent – never getting too close and never too far away. I went to get a camera thinking that by the time I got back it would have gone, but no it was still there. Every time I moved my camera it would dart to the side, but never going more that a couple of feet away. A few times another bee would get close to me and the first one would chase it away. I guess the old Dale fascination was at work – at least with bees

Taken with a Sony A6000 and 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 OSS.
