An earlier post (Bali I: Batiks) referred to some batiks we had looked at while visiting Bali. I also mentioned that we had bought one. We had it framed and it’s now on the wall of one of our bedrooms. This is it.
Chinese Cabinet
Besides scanning and going to malls I’ve tried to escape the cold and the snow by taking some pictures inside the house. This one is of an antique chinese wedding cabinet, which we bought at an antique show in Divonne-les-Bains when we were living in France. I like the metallic fixtures against the red wood of the cabinet. It presently sits in our living room – right next to the entrance to the kitchen.
National Museum of Denmark, Copenhagen
These were taken in May 2011 with a Panasonic LX3.
I also took some pictures at the museum and I’d forgotten about them until recently. What I remember most about the visit was the the kids and the teachers had moved to another room and I ran to catch up. Unfortunately I tripped, fell and hit my nose on the floor. Apart from that a great time was had by all.
Inside the Mall
Another one taken inside the Danbury Fair Mall. I was having a coffee while waiting for my wife to finish shopping and I leaned back in my chair and looked up to see these lights outlined against the ceiling and skylight. The lights reminded me of flower petals and the diagonal girder (or whatever it is) of a stem. The warm color of the lights and the blue of the sky made a nice change from the ice and snow outside.
