My friend had loaned me a few bags and I walked over to his house to return them. He invited me for a drink and we sat and chatted for a while on his deck. When it came to leave I spotted this gorgeous light as the sun went down behind the trees in the background.

We’d had a fair amount of rain and I was taking the dog for a walk when I noticed these water droplets on the dark brownish red leaves of this tree – possibly a maple of some kind (I’m not really good at tree recognition).

I was initially going to call it ‘Dead tree Silhouette’ but I passed it the other day and found it full of leaves.

I took these pictures of our Japanese Maple up at the lake house. I liked the gnarled limbs that were quite visible since the leaves had not yet appeared. The mist helped separate the tree from the lake and distant shore in the background.

Although the blossoms have now all long gone, the cherry trees in the garden looked nice when they were in bloom.
