Tree Lighting

We’ve had the lake house for about eight years now. Every year Christmas tree lights appear on a tree near the entrance to the community – a friend, and neighbor has always taken responsibility to make this happen. For the first time this year, however, someone has decided to make this an event. It was nice to see everyone get together. Christmas carols were sung and refreshments were served.

This blog – to continue or not?

I haven’t updated this blog since February 2020. There are a number of reasons for this including: ill health; COVID restrictions etc. However, the most important is that I wasn’t sure that I even wanted to continue with the blog at all. One of the main reasons I started with it was because I thought it would encourage me to continue to take pictures. In that sense it was successful – maybe too much so. I found that I was “feeding” the blog i.e. I was taking pictures, not because they were particularly good, but rather because I had to meet my monthly quota.

So I’ve decided to give it one more try – this time focusing on quality rather than quantity. We’ll see how it goes.

Finally some birds

In earlier posts I’ve chronicled my attempts to get pictures of birds, and how whenever I go out to take such pictures I never come across any.

I finally managed to get a few bird pictures: nothing exotic – just some mallards and geese on our lake. But it’s better than nothing and it encourages me to keep trying.
