Photographs and thoughts on photography and camera collecting
Simon Baxter is an excellent landscape and woodland photographer based in the UK. He also has a YouTube channel to which I subscribe.
Back in 2020 during COVID photographers like Mr. Baxter had a problem: they couldn’t travel to locations where they could take photographs. They had to stay in their homes except for short walks for exercise.
So, Mr. Baxter decided to start a series of interviews with fellow photographers where each photographer would say a few words about a couple of their photographs, which had a particular meaning for them.
I was able to find eight such interviews (see below).
I found them interesting. I hope you will too.
I think that what initially caught my attention was what he was wearing: the bright orange contrasting with the black.
Then I found myself wondering why he was sitting on that fence. It didn’t look very comfortable.
As I got closer, I noticed that he wasn’t wearing any shoes. I wondered why.
Finally, I noticed that he had the word love tattooed on the fingers of his left hand.
I asked him if I could take a couple of pictures, and he kindly agreed, even seemed to enjoy the experience. After I’d taken the pictures, I showed them to him and he seemed to be happy with them.
Unfortunately, in my rush to get the pictures, I neglected to ask his name. Pity.

This time the bird was watching me. This picture was taken through the window of a restaurant where I was having my lunch. It was by the Hudson and soon after I arrived, I saw, through the window, this mallard jump up onto the wooden railing. It stayed there for a long time, just peering at me.
Maybe he was the mate of the mallard in the previous picture, and it didn’t like me taking pictures of his offspring. 😊
