While walking around in the woods I would often hear a high pitched “squeaking” noise. I always thought it was birds but now I realize that it was chipmunks so at least I now know when they are around. Luckily I was able to get close enough to get a half way decent picture – for once.

I often see horses at the preserve. Harley doesn’t seem to know what to make of them. He doesn’t usually bark at them the way he does with deer. Maybe he’s just overwhelmed.
From time to time I also see horse drawn carriages. This isn’t too surprising as many of these trails were originally carriage trails owned and used by the Rockefeller family before they donated the land to the state.

I came across this cat as I was walking our dog, Harley. While he didn’t even notice the cat, the cat watched him very carefully as we passed by.
