Of course, it was the bright, red berries that first attracted my attention. But what really made me decide to take this picture was the single green berry in bottom, right corner.

This ruined wall stands on the border of an old mansion. which once belonged to the founder of the village where I live: Walter W. Law. You can just make it out in the background.
I’ve taken pictures a of it a number of times before (See for example: Ruined Stone Wall in Snow), but always from the other side. This time I braved the bramble patches and made my way through the undergrowth until I could climb onto another, smaller ruined wall to get this picture.

Yesterday I posted a black and white picture of a spoon (See: A Spoon). When I took the picture, I had in mind that it would be good in black and white. And I still think it does.
However, I’ve since warmed to the color version too.

Seen at my friend’s house early in the morning of New Year’s Day, 2024. I liked the way the early morning sun was streaming in through the window and illuminating the wreath.

We had our first snowfall of 2024 last night. As usual all kinds of dire warnings were issued. We were told that 10 inches of snow was possible.
This is what we got (taken in my garden). I doubt that it’s even 2 inches.
