Bright green vacuum

This one is an oldie, taken back in June, 2012 in Ossining, NY. I was attracted to the rather seedy looking façade of the house and the vivid yellowish-green of the rather incongruous looking vacuum cleaner standing outside.

In those days I was a bit obsessed with black and white conversions and I posted a black and white version of this back in 2015 (See: Porch with Vacuum Cleaner). Nowadays I think I prefer this, the original, color version.

An Urn

I’ve been waiting for about a year to take this picture. I first noticed it in Winter 2020 and was attracted to it’s shape and the way the tangled branches were growing around it. I kept meaning to take a a picture of it, but before I knew it Winter had passed, Spring had arrived and the urn was completely covered with leaves, so much so that you could no longer see it. So I waited…

Ugly Structures revisited

About a month ago I posted about a couple of not particularly attractive structures near where I live (See: Around the Neighborhood – Ugly structures). I recently passed by the same area and one of them was in the process of being removed. I believe that old water tower is being removed because it is so longer needed (and has probably been not needed for some time). I imagine it was only being kept because of the antennae on top of it. I guess the new one now fulfils that role. Unfortunately, I find the new one to be particularly offensive. I don’t like the way it’s pretending to be a tree.
