Newburgh – Adams Fairacre Farms – Garden Statuary
We went to Adams Fairacre Farms in Newburgh the other day as my wife wanted to take a look at their David Austin Roses.
While she was looking I strolled around and took some pictures of the garden statuary scattered among the flowers, shrubs and trees.

A visit to the Bronx Zoo – Butterfly Garden
Maybe we came at the wrong time of year, but I was “underwhelmed” by this garden. I’ve been to butterfly gardens in Asia (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia comes to mind) and I have memories of large numbers, clouds almost, of large brightly colored butterflies buzzing around me.
Here I saw very few butterflies, most of them small and fairly unimpressive like the ones above.
I do quite like the picture though.

A visit to the Bronx Zoo – Some Architectural Details

A visit to the Bronx Zoo – Children’s Zoo
We went to the Children’s Zoo so the kids could pet and feed the animals. I already have lots of pictures of ponies, goats, sheep, geese etc. so the only pictures I took of them were when the kids were feeding them. Unfortunately, the kids’ parents don’t like pictures of their children to posted on the internet.
One other inhabitant of the Children’s Zoo did catch my attention: A peacock. There are lots of peacocks at the Bronx Zoo. They seem to wander around freely. At one point we were sitting at a picnic table waiting for my wife when a peacock walked right under the table. I think this is the closest I’ve ever been to one.
There was another one at the Children’s Zoo. This one very cooperatively chose to raise its tail feathers just as I was passing. Really Spectacular.
