Battling Wasps

I was sitting on the balcony outside my bedroom when I heard a ‘thud’ (actually it was more like a ‘plop’). When I looked down I saw that a wasp had fallen and was thrashing around on the floor. As I looked more closely I noticed that it was not one wasp, but two – and they were fighting like crazy. I took some pictures and then left – they were still locked in combat. I looked back later and didn’t see any wasp corpses so I guess they must have sorted out their differences.

Roses in my garden

This is the first picture of a rose that I’ve posted since my late wife, Eirah passed away about a year and a half ago. She was the gardener in the family and loved roses. I neglected the garden for some time, but have recently had a fairly extensive cleanup done. I’m pleased to say that there are still about 36 roses in the garden. This is the first one to bloom. I have no idea what it’s name is.

Harley

I’ve posted a number of pictures of my new cat lately. I think my dog, Harley should have equal time. My much neglected garden is now looking a lot better, the weather was nice so I decided to sit outside for a while. As Harley did his thing I took these pictures. And yes, I know he needs grooming.

UEFA Champions League Final

The other day I went into New York City to meet and old friend and former colleague for lunch and to watch the UEFA Champions League Final between Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Real Madrid won despite Liverpool dominating the game. For example Liverpool had nine shots on goal where Madrid, I believe only had one. However, that one shot went in and regrettably none of the Liverpool attempts did. I have to admit the the Madrid goalkeeper was absolutely superb.
